Happy Holidays from all of us here at the BH.
All right, we know it’s September. There are 107 days until Christmas, but we know what will be one of the “must have” toys of the Christmas holidays. We’re still scratching our heads at the phenomenal success of MGAE’s Lalaloopsy (formerly Bitty Buttons) product line. 2011 was supposed to be the year of the Bratz celebrating its 10th Anniversary. So much for any celebration…Lalaloopsy has crashed that party big time, because this line is beating up on our Bratz.
We can’t be upset about it, though. Had it not been for Lalaloopsy, MGAE would’ve filed for bankruptcy and gone out of business. After the company went through hell and back during the Bratz lawsuit against Mattel, Lalaloopsy saved our Bratz and saved MGAE. At least we don’t have to worry about Mattel suing MGAE over the rights to Lalaloopsy…Mattel can’t come up with any legal bull$#!+ it “owns” the line.
So allow us to introduce to you one of the newest dolls in MGAE’s Lalaloopsy line, Holly Sleighbells. According to the package, Holly was once a rag doll who came to life when MGAE manufactured it. Holly is this handy helper who loves making lists, wrapping presents, and being good…most of the time. The doll was from this real elf’s costume and sewn on December 1, which is some date in history that we know absolutely nothing about. No, wait, now we remember…National Mistletoe Day.
Now if you thought getting this Lalaloopsy Holly Sleighbells doll was a piece of cake, nothing could be further from the truth. Believe us, it was brutally difficult to get. The first time Lalaloopsy Holly Sleighbells was made available on Wal-Mart’s online shopping website, there were 60 on hand. eBay scalpers (who are the absolute scum of the earth) bought up most of the dolls and put them up for anywhere between two to four times the regular price. The second time this was available, less than 10 were on hand. We had to bum rush this order like the Wu-Tang Clan. Took us about 15 seconds to add the Lalaloopsy Holly Sleighbells doll to our shopping cart, choose overnight FedEx shipping, and place our order. We got the last one before it sold out. Yeah, that’s how difficult it was to get this doll…it will be even more difficult to get when it is actually released at Wal-Mart itself.
We have some photos of Holly Sleighbells that we’ve posted below. Check them out and enjoy. According to MGAE, Lalaloopsy Holly Sleighbells is a Wal-Mart Exclusive. It was or will be released around mid-October 2011 and available for a limited time (that’s probably why the eBay scalpers were buying up these dolls…they knew something about it that everyone else didn’t). Even though MGAE has never said it, this doll is actually considered a Collector’s Limited Edition Release, but that all depends how you define the term “Limited Edition.” Ain’t got this? Better get it now before it’s too late and you end up buying one from the eBay scalpers. How we hate those damn cocksucking @$$holes…
(UPDATE: Holly Sleighbells will be available during the Christmas holidays for 2011 and will likely be gone as we transition to Valentine’s Day. MGAE has said this Lalaloopsy doll is not a Limited Edition and there will be enough dolls available to meet demand, no set number on how many were made. The only reason why we called it a “Collector’s Limited Edition Release” was because it was a bitch trying to get one of these on Walmart.com. You can thank the pathetic scalpers hoarding up tons of them to support their living on eBay. In reality, this Lalaloopsy doll is not Limited Edition. And it’s worth mentioning…WE ARE NOT MGAE PRODUCT INSIDERS. We don’t ever want that offensive term used on us again.)
